Cleanings & Exams

Regular cleanings and exams are essential for maintaining a strong foundation of oral health. At Beach Cities Dentistry, we recommend scheduling these appointments every six months to keep your teeth and gums in optimal condition.

  • During your visit, our skilled hygienists will perform a thorough cleaning to remove plaque and tartar buildup, which can lead to gum disease and tooth decay if left untreated.
  • Following the cleaning, our dentists will conduct a comprehensive examination, checking for signs of decay, gum disease, oral cancer, and other potential issues. By catching these problems early, we can create a customized treatment plan designed to preserve your dental health.

Crowns

Dental crowns are an effective solution for restoring the strength, appearance, and function of a damaged or weakened tooth. At Beach Cities Dentistry, we offer tooth-colored crowns, which are made from high-quality materials such as porcelain or ceramic, to provide a natural-looking restoration that blends seamlessly with your smile. These materials closely mimic the appearance and properties of natural teeth, making them an excellent choice for patients seeking a durable and aesthetically pleasing restoration.

The process of placing a dental crown typically involves two appointments.

  • During the first appointment, our dentist will remove any decay or damaged tooth structure and shape the tooth to accommodate the crown. We will then take an impression of the prepared tooth, which will be sent to a dental laboratory to fabricate the custom-made crown. In the meantime, a temporary crown will be placed to protect the tooth.
  • At the second appointment, the temporary crown is removed, and the permanent tooth-colored crown is carefully adjusted and cemented into place. Our dentists will ensure a perfect fit and bite alignment, giving you the confidence to reclaim full function and confidence with the addition of your beautiful new restoration.

Bridges

Bridges are an excellent option for patients missing one or more teeth in succession. These custom-made dental appliances consist of an artificial tooth, or pontic, supported by dental crowns on either side, which are cemented over the adjacent natural teeth. Bridges can be made from various materials, including porcelain, ceramic, or a combination of metal and porcelain, depending on the patient’s preferences and needs; at our practice, we primarily utilize metal-free bridge restorations.

The process of placing a dental bridge typically requires two appointments.

  • During the first appointment, our talented team will prepare the teeth on either side of the gap to accommodate the crowns. We will then take an impression of the prepared teeth and the gap, which will be sent to a dental laboratory to create your custom bridge. A temporary bridge will be placed to protect the prepared teeth and maintain the space until your permanent bridge is ready.
  • At the second appointment, the temporary bridge is removed, and the permanent bridge is carefully adjusted and cemented into place. Our team will ensure that the restoration integrates seamlessly into your smile—providing a comfortable fit, natural appearance, and proper bite alignment.

Not only do bridges help restore your smile’s aesthetics, but they also improve your ability to chew and speak properly, maintain the shape of your face, and prevent surrounding teeth from shifting out of alignment. With proper care, a dental bridge will last up to 10 years—restoring comfort and confidence in your smile.
